ANNOUNCING THE NEW PALS PROGRAM! |
It is the Special Needs Ministry's goal to offer a special Pal for those children with special needs who need one-on-one assistance during Sunday School. Children will be paired with their Pal who will be with them during the regular class, providing assistance and added direction and guidance as needed. If you would like your child to work with a Pal, please register him/her on the Pals Program form located at the information desk and place it in Abigail Schlie's mailbox. If you are interested in volunteering as a Pal, please sign-up at the information desk. You don't have to have a special degree for this--just lots of patience and love! As a Pal you would accompany your child to Sunday School class and help him/her with the lessons. You would not have to teach; although, you may find it helpful to make some adaptations as needed to meet the needs of your child. If you have any questions, please contact Abigail Schlie. By the way, thank you to everyone who donated money to help begin a Special Needs Resource library. The books will be made available very soon. You can still contribute anytime to help purchase books. Please mark "Special Needs Library" in the memo of your check. If you would like to donate a book in someone's name, please indicate that too. Thank you! |

Spotlight On...Immanuel's Cub and Boy Scouts Program |
How This Ministry Operates:Immanuel’s Boy Scout program involves both Cub Scout Pack 61 and Boy Scout Troop 61. Both groups have been chartered (sponsored) by the Women in Ministry for more than 45 years. The Scout mission is to develop boys into responsible young Christian men. All boys (Immanuel members and non-members) from age 6 through 18 can be a scout. Boys can join at any age. Adults are also welcome. Scouting Out Ways to Help at Immanuel and in the Community:The Cub Scouts recently purchased and put in flowers in the garden around the church sign. This is part of an annual tradition of spending 1-2 work days weeding and beautifying Immanuel’s grounds. |
