Get Involved

Disaster volunteer at fire sceneNeighbors helping neighbors, across the street or across the ocean – that’s the American Red Cross!

The Red Cross offers numerous ways you can make a difference in the world around you.

Volunteer

Each year hundreds of people from southeastern Wisconsin serve as Red Cross volunteers. With their help, time and commitment, the Red Cross is able to help people in emergencies, teach first aid and CPR courses, deliver emergency messages to members of the military, organize programs for the elderly and youth and much more. Red Cross volunteers work directly with people or provide behind-the-scenes support.

Be a Red Cross volunteer! Helping others feels good and helps you feel good about yourself. Your local Red Cross can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilize your talents, or provide training to help you serve your community.

Fundraise

For generations, the American Red Cross has provided Heroes to our community. In order for the Red Cross to continue to meet our community's needs, we need people willing to be a "Hero" for the Red Cross. Heroes are people who commit to raising money for the local Red Cross chapter.

Every dollar helps! Click here to find out how your donation can help those in your community.

Local individuals and organizations in Kenosha, Racine and Waukesha County, as well as the city of Wauwatosa, have become Heroes for the American Red Cross by being campaign co-chairs, honorary co-chairs and heroes. Their generosity and willingness to help ensures that the Red Cross can take care of residents in southeastern Wisconsin, by providing shelter, food and other emergency services to those in need.

These heroes are challenged to raise money for the American Red Cross within a 3-week period in May. They raise the money through their company, organization or give individual donations, through any legal means they choose, with the support of their employees and vendors.
