Our third/luncheon meeting of 2010 will be this Wednesday, March 10! Joan Thompson, a member of the Card Ministry, has made time to come to our
meeting and show us how to make some cards.(It will be hands on training) Come and learn something new to help us to minister to others. The time of our meeting is 11:30 A.M. and the date is Wednesday March 10th. |

International Fair Held at Immanuel |

A big “Thank You” to Immanuel Church and School for allowing the Girls Scouts of Immanuel to host the International Fair for the Meadow Springs Service Unit in the Field House on Friday, February 19th, 2010. We had over 350 Girl Scouts from grade schools and middle schools located in
Lannon, Sussex, Northwest Brookfield, and Butler (St. Agnes) at Immanuel participating in the event. Over 25 Girl Scout Troops participated in setting up booths representing countries from around the world to commemorate Girl Scout Thinking Day. It was exciting to see the parking lot full and the gym packed with people from our community who may not have been aware of Immanuel before that evening. Thank you to Laura Barton and Jim Radewahn for their help in making Immanuel a wonderful venue for this event. |

Monday-The faculty will be at the doors to welcome the students! This will be the first day of our penny contest to raise money for a children’s home in Haiti. Each classroom will work on a research paper on a famous person who lived or is living a life of service in the world. |

Mexico Mission Upcoming Events |

This year 20-25 missionaries from Immanuel will be the hands and feet of God in Acuna, Mexico, a small town across the border from Del Rio, Texas. We will be working with the group Casas por Cristo, during the week of June 17th-27th. The missionaries will build a three room house which is much needed, and share the love of God with the family. A down payment has been made for the house and many funds are still needed. Funds are also needed for the van rental and gas. Cancer Support Meets Mar. 2 |

The Immanuel Lutheran Church Cancer Support Group monthly meeting will be Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 7:00 pm in the classrooms (off the Fellowship Hall) at Church. This meeting will start a new series of very inspirational sessions devoted to Reflections on PSALM 23, for people with cancer. In this video series, and corresponding materials, Ken Curtis explores coping with cancer from personal experience based on the inspiration of the 23rd Psalm. For this video Curtis went to Israel, home of David and the Psalm, to be with the shepherds, travel "through the valley of the shadow of death," and explore and enjoy the healing powers of the green pastures and still waters. The resulting meditations provide a combination of candid personal experience of what it means to battle cancer and some of the spiritual resources available through this time-honored Psalm.
If you've thought about checking out Immanuel's Cancer Support Group, Tuesday night 3/02/10 is a great chance to do just that. We will start a reprise of the video series and continue our journey in God's Word with "The Lord is My Shepherd." |
