As ministries focused on the experience of our members and guests, the Information Center and Greeters focus on providing the congregation with: · Greeters at each service to welcome worshippers · Ministers at the Information Desk to field questions from both members and guests Making Worshippers Welcome Greeters welcome members and guests as they arrive to each worship service on Sunday and Monday. They arrive approximately 20 minutes before the start of each service and ensure worshippers feel comfortable and cared for. For instance, if someone has a question about Immanuel, the greeter can direct them to the Information Center. Where Do I Go…? Where Can I Find…? The Information Center desk is located across from the church entrance doors to welcome members and guests to Immanuel and answer questions about Immanuel activities. Ministers provide personal assistance in finding classes, forms, and general information about Immanuel happenings. Ministers assist in pointing people in the right direction for special events such as baptisms and Bible study classes. Ministers serving at the desk arrive 20 minutes before the 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services and stay for a short time following each service. Is a Guest’s First Impression of Immanuel a Favorable One? The Greeters and Information Desk ministries are currently teaming up with the new Outreach Vision Team to review what the ministries are currently doing and what improvements might be made to make the ministries more effective. Watch for details regarding an upcoming meeting for the Greeters and Information Desk to review the ministries. The congregation is welcome to offer feedback that can help to improve the overall ministry. Have a Heart for Hosting? These ministries are always looking for individuals and/or groups to act as Greeters or staff at the Information Desk. Individual Greeters and Information Center ministers are on rotating schedules, and can choose which service they would like to serve. Arrangements may be made for interested groups to serve as well. The Boy and Cub Scouts served as greeters for all services during February – thank you!
