Spotlight on...Premarital Counseling 2010 PDF Print E-mail

Arranging for marriage at Immanuel:

When a couple is engaged, an appointment should be made with a pastor to reserve the date for the wedding. At that time, the couple will receive the marital guidelines and information about the required premarital counseling. Our pastor’s responsibility is not only to officiate at the Marriage Service, but also to prepare the couple for the years of married life.

Therefore, the couple is required to meet with one of the pastors for 4-8 hours of premarital preparation prior to the wedding. Normally, the pastors will not marry a couple unless they have had the opportunity to spend adequate time in premarital counseling sessions or unless other acceptable arrangements have been made beforehand.

Amidst hectic wedding planning, why make time for counseling?

“Research has demonstrated that couples who go through premarital counseling build stronger relationships and significantly improve their couple satisfaction,” says Pastor Schneider.

Are you and your fiancée ready for this important step?

Contact Pastor Dan Schneider or Pastor Ben Squires to make an appointment.
