Outreach this Summer...Riches in Richmond PDF Print E-mail

Trinity Lutheran Church is a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church that works through an organization called Elderhomes. They screen applicants and select projects specifically for this mission event. They have an extensive list of over 500 clients waiting for volunteers to serve them. It is mostly housing repair and accessibility improvements for low income/elderly female clients. They are hoping this year to build and install 4 wheelchair ramps, build a backyard fence for a family with a special needs child, painting the home and repairing the back porch floor for an elderly man. They will also work with LAMBS Basket (a north side Richmond food pantry). Participants will also plan and execute a dinner/dance for developmentally disabled adults that are part of Trinity’s congregation. Immanuel will have sixteen youth going and four adult Leaders. We will drive to Virginia, spending a night at a church along the way. We will serve at the mission trip from Saturday, June 20th through the following Saturday and then head back home.

This year’s participants are: Chaperones: Heather Corn, Kathy Thompson, Jon Hanschke, Jim Radewahn

Youth: Jon Thompson, Sarah Denkert, Emily Radewahn, Lexy Jones, Josh Thompson, Amanda Meyer, Anne Hanschke, Brandon Weyker, Cody Luckmann, Katie Stoltmann, Sarah Binder, Sarah Lloyd, Matthew Denkert, Becky Stein, Haley Schlicht and Joshua Corn.
