Construction Update as of June 21 PDF Print E-mail

The work on our construction project this past week has been primarily "behind the scenes" work. Envira-Tech Mechanical has started work on replacing our boilers. A small amount of asbestos identified in some sealed insulation was removed and properly disposed of. The remaining tree stumps are
being ground into mulch.

The majority of the kitchen cabinets in the fellowship hall have been removed. The fellowship hall has been totally emptied and ceiling tiles have been salvaged for use in rooms which are not being remodeled. A construction office has been set up in the old Bride's Room off the fellowship hall. The fellowship hall is now a designated construction zone and will not be available to anyone for use this summer. Please contact the church office if you need an alternative location for any meetings or events.

As of the writing of this article, we are still waiting final approval of the civil site plan and storm water plans from the City of Brookfield. These plans were submitted last Fall but the City has now requested some revisions. It is expected that a full building permit will be issued on June 19th or 22nd. The first step will then be to remove the playset for the summer. The playset will be stored and reinstalled at the east end of the new parking lot at the conclusion of the project. The next step will be to grade the new parking lot area and to enlarge the detention pond area. Berghammer will then move to the new classroom area to dig the footings and pour the foundation concrete. At the same time, Berghammer will be building the new detention
pond and installing all underground piping. The binder course for the new parking lot driveway will then go in which will serve as our construction driveway. This entrance will be for construction vehicles only. This initial work is expected to take several weeks. Take your final look at the area to the south of the school ... by next week it should start to look totally different!
