An event this size is a tremendous undertaking. As people told me what a great job I did, my response was, “All I did was run around. There were a lot of other people who made this event what it is.” And what is this event? A one-day opportunity for us to meet nearly 100 households of people who are not members of Immanuel. 100 households who got to see God’s love in our actions. 100 households that had the seed of the Gospel planted in them by God through us. This is what it means to reach out into the community, to amaze people that we give away free food and soda and games. This is what it means to love people with the love of Jesus as they soak up an experience at a church that may be completely different than what they thought they’d find. Thank you to all of our team leaders and ministers—more than we can possibly list here. You are servants of the Lord, and He has done His work through you. Pastor Ben Squires |
